To begin, we want to share how Pamela Robberson discovered approaches to effectively raise the reading ability and performance of struggling readers in low performing schools and then taught other teachers to do the same thing.
Pamela began her career teaching Kindergarten and First grade, later teaching Reading Recovery working with at risk first graders, Dyslexic students and low IQ students. She learned her craft well as most of the low performing youngsters exited the program successfully and continued to keep pace on level with their peers. As a result, when the more demanding State Testing came along and all teachers and administrators began to panic, she was asked to take responsibility for making certain that all teachers and students in the district were proficient.
As a result, she had to teach other teachers to do what she had become so very good at doing-getting results. And more importantly, as teachers you will appreciate this, getting results while ensuring that the students she worked with became lifelong readers who enjoyed and appreciated reading. Her journey led to the founding of Robberson Educational Services (RES).
Below is a brief slide show of the people and places behind RES.
